VIDAS is a multi-parameter automated immunoanalyser. It comprises an analytical module, a computer and a printer. The analytical module automatically performs all stages of the analysis, including printing out the full results. It contains five sections, each accepting 6 tests, and can handle 60 tests per hour. Thanks to its speed of reaction and sectioned architecture, VIDAS? is the ideal system for handling series of analyses and urgent tests. The computer module is used to manage and print out the results. It can handle up to four analytical modules simultaneously, giving the system a capacity of 240 tests per hour.
mini VIDAS is a compact version of the VIDAS system, with a built-in computer, keyboard and printer. It has 2 independent sections each accepting 6 tests, and can process up to 12 samples simultaneously.
The VIDAS technology is reliable in all situations, as confirmed by our operation mini VIDAS? on Mont Blanc.
With a range up to 70 assays VIDAS tests have applications in clinical diagnostics and industrial microbiological testing.
VIDAS test
VIDAS tests use ELFA technology (Enzyme Linked Fluorescent Assay), associating enzyme marking and fluorescence measurement. It is used on the VIDAS and mini VIDAS automated analyzers. Based on an inter-sample anti-contamination principle, VIDAS? tests are presented in individual, ready-to-use form. They contain a SPR and a strip :
the SPR (Solid Phase Receptacle) is the solid phase of the reaction. It is a disposable item, and acts as a sampling needle. This concept eliminates potential inter-sample contamination.
the strip contains all the reagents, ready for use.
At each stage in the immunoanalysis, the SPR repeatedly takes up the reagent and transfers it into the various wells of the strip, through to the final stage of the analysis. The last well is the reading well, where the final intensity of the reaction is measured by fluorescence.
