首先來看這么一段話，來自《銀河護(hù)衛(wèi)隊(duì)》里媽媽寫給星爵的信：

Peter, I know these last few months have been hard for you. But I’m going to a better place. And I will be okay. And I will always be with you. You are the light of my life.  My precious son. My little Star-Lord.

Peter, 我知道最近幾個(gè)月對(duì)你來說很痛苦，但是我去了更好的地方，我會(huì)照顧好自己的。我會(huì)永遠(yuǎn)陪在你身邊。你是我生命的曙光，我摯愛的兒子，我的小星爵。

這里涉及了習(xí)語“the light of your life”，它的意思是“最愛的人”。追星少女最能理解這句話啦，“為什么喜歡一個(gè)遙遠(yuǎn)的人? 因?yàn)樗麜?huì)發(fā)光啊！”

好的，今天就來學(xué)習(xí)和light有關(guān)的實(shí)用表達(dá)。

1. cast/shed/throw light on sth 為…提供解釋；使…較容易理解

His diary cast light on life in England in the seventeenth century.

他的日記使人了解17世紀(jì)英格蘭的生活情況。

2. come to light（真相）為人所知，被披露

Fresh evidence has recently come to light that suggests that he didn't in fact commit the murder.

新近發(fā)現(xiàn)的證據(jù)表明那起兇殺案并不是他干的。

3. go out like a light 立即入睡；馬上失去知覺

go out的意思有“出去；熄滅”，這里就用燈光熄滅的速度來比喻立即入睡的狀態(tài)，很形象吧！下面分享的例句來自《駱駝祥子》：

When he lay down finally, he went out like a light the moment his head touched the d, and he felt it wouldn't be such a bad thing if he never woke again.

4. in the light of sth 因?yàn)椋�鑒于

5. light at the end of the tunnel 隧道盡頭的亮光，曙光

這個(gè)習(xí)語常用來指局勢(shì)出現(xiàn)好轉(zhuǎn)或艱巨任務(wù)即將完成的跡象，不知道大家有沒有看過《釜山行》。電影的最后幸存的兩個(gè)人要通過長(zhǎng)長(zhǎng)的隧道，最終她們靠著盡頭的亮光走完了隧道活了下去。

As finals approached, she felt that at last she could see the light at the end of the tunnel.

隨著考試的臨近，她覺得自己終于快要熬出頭了。

6. show someone in a bad light 丑化（某人）

in a bad light的意思是在看不清楚的地方；在光線不好的地方。

有沒有聽說過有一種神奇的光叫韓劇光，沒了打光畫面可沒那么好看哦！

light做形容詞，除了“光亮的，明亮的”的這個(gè)最常見意思，還有這幾個(gè)含義：

1. 輕松的，愉快的

make light of sth 輕視，忽視（尤指問題）

It is easy to make light of other people's problems.

忽視他人的問題很容易。

2. 弱小的；少量的

light eater/drinker/smoker

飯量／酒量／煙癮小的人

light sleeper

睡覺輕的人

3. 輕微的，輕松的，容易的

①make light work of sth/doing sth 輕而易舉地做某事

Heather made light work of painting the walls.

②as light as a feather 輕如鴻毛

light作動(dòng)詞，翻譯為“照亮，點(diǎn)亮；為…照明”，看一下這兩個(gè)短語：
